A little Introduction...

This is the official site of the Free Radio Service Holland, a non-commercial & non-religious free radio station operating on the short wave bands. Independent and free.... The station started on Sunday August 31st 1980. Eversince more than 35 years have passed with ups and downs. No doubt more ups than downs. What kept (and keeps!) us going can be best described as "for the love of (free) radio". In the knowledge we do operate independently, our station output consists of a wide variety of ingredients in which quality pop music from the past 5 decades plays a vital role. In addition FRS provides its listening audience with radio related items in various shows and not to forget radio information in 'FRS Goes DX'. One of our jingles says 'Radio is our passion' and one of our slogans 'A Balance between Music and Information joint to one Format'.  Perhaps these two slogans reflect best what FRS stands for...
This website represents 35+ years of FRS-Holland. An in depth look in the life of a free radio station. Photos, illustrations, audio clips but most of all information....our complete & detailed history year by year.
With this website we make it our aim to secure FRS-Holland's heritage, publishing it to all free radio enthusiasts and friends who are well disposed towards us.
Any serious comments, remarks or contributions for the sake of this website are welcome and appreciated. Send them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Remember...also in this modern high tech digital era shortwave listening provides the listener with a window to the world and remains a hobby loved by many. Shortwave free radio is part of it for already many decades....
